Flea Trap

Flea Trap

The flea trap is the environmentally friendly way to get rid of fleas from your home, it does not use harmful chemicals that are toxic to pets and other animals the way that flea bombs and flea foggers do, instead it traps the fleas and prevents then escaping. This way the flea can not bite you and your pets causing those irritable itchy and potently bites you suffer from if you have a flea infestation in your home. It also stops the fleas breading and laying eggs in your carpets and this reduces the number of fleas you have in your home making flea bites less likely and reducing the chances of a full blown infestation occurring allowing you to enjoy your home and pets without having to suffer from flea bites or worrying that when your friends visit they may be bitten too.

The main use and aim of the flea trap is not to kill large numbers of fleas quickly and so cure an infestation in a couple of hours it is more of a method to prevent the infestation taking hold in the first place. There are many different types of flea trap on the market, one I particularly like does not use chemicals instead it attracts the flea by using warmth and light to convince the flea that the trap is an animal that the flea would like to feed on, as fleas live off the blood of warm blooded creatures the flea trap mimics one of these animals, the flea approaches and enters the trap and can not escape. This breaks the breading and infestation cycle of the flea, as they can not bread and lay more eggs they can not replenish their numbers when they die off, this will help reduce the number of fleas in your home.

The flea trap that is right for you will depend on how large your home is and what level of flea infestation you have, a typical trap will cover an area of approximately 25 feet, so an average size room would need just one or two traps, however if the level of infestation is high or you suspect that the fleas have got access to other rooms in your home it would be sensible to purchase more traps and have them in different parts of your home, they are not expensive when you consider that the alternative may be a risk to the health of your pets, yourself your family and friends, they are also often much less expensive than getting a professional flea exterminator in to deal with a larger flea infestation problem..

Unlike some other treatments the flea traps can be used contently, you can replace the pads that trap the fleas once they have the maximum number of fleas they are designed to take and add in a new pad, all you need to keep them running is a power source so you can have them in any room you are likely to be in.

As you can see the number of fleas trapped at any time by looking at the pads in the traps around your home you can see if the flea population in your home is dropping, as an alternative to toxic and potentially dangerous chemicals the flea trap is amazing.
